Senior Commerce Developer Position

We are seeking a seasoned and accomplished commerce developer with expertise in creating and managing robust e-commerce solutions using Magento 2+. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Magento-based applications, crafting custom modules, and integrating third-party services. This role requires in-depth knowledge of PHP and MySQL, as well as a commitment to optimizing site performance while adhering to best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Magento 2-based e-commerce applications and custom modules.
  • Build reusable, modular components and solutions from scratch.
  • Integrate RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and third-party services (e.g., ERP, CRM).
  • Extend GraphQL schemas for custom Magento modules.
  • Manage Magento indexing, caching, and back-end sync processes, including cron jobs.
  • Handle multi-site, multi-store, multi-currency, and multi-language configurations.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers, QA, and Product teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and maintainability of the Magento codebase.
  • Perform peer code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
  • Work with headless commerce or PWA Studio architecture (preferred).
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, Git, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Magento 2+ expertise, including architecture and development best practices.
  • Custom module development and Magento backend customization.
  • Strong skills in PHP and MySQL.
  • Proficiency with RESTful APIs & GraphQL; ability to extend schemas and build scalable endpoints.
  • Experience with Magento indexing, caching (Varnish/Redis), and cron job management.
  • Experience in third-party integrations (e.g., ERP, CRM).
  • Exposure to multi-site/store-view setups with language & currency support.
  • Proficient with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Git, and experience with automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, RestAssured, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
  • Adobe Commerce Certification (Professional / Expert) is a plus.
  • Experience with headless architecture or Magento PWA Studio is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment practices is a plus.
  • Understanding of performance tuning, load testing, and security best practices is a plus.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
