API Test Engineer Position

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced API test engineer to ensure MuleSoft APIs meet business and technical requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of REST/SOAP, hands-on MuleSoft testing experience, and proficiency in API testing tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning & Collaboration: Work closely with developers, architects, and business analysts to design detailed test strategies, plans, and scenarios for MuleSoft APIs.
  • Testing & Validation: Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing of MuleSoft APIs, checking response formats, headers, status codes, and business logic.
  • Automation & Tools: Design and develop automated API test scripts (ReadyAPI preferred; Postman, SoapUI, JMeter acceptable) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Defect Management & Reporting: Identify, log, track, and retest defects using tools like JIRA, prepare and maintain test documentation including test cases, scripts, and summary reports.
  • Agile Participation: Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in API testing, with 3+ years in MuleSoft API testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Proficiency in API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, ReadyAPI).
  • Knowledge of MuleSoft platform components and architecture.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP, JSON, XML, OAuth2, JWT, API security standards.
  • Expertise in writing complex SQL queries for data validation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: MuleSoft Certified Developer or MuleSoft Certified Integration/Platform Specialist.
  • Additional skills: Experience in DevOps pipelines and API automation, exposure to performance/load testing with JMeter or ReadyAPI.
