Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prototype sensor systems using laser line profilers, displacement sensors, ultrasonic probes, and cameras
  • Collaborate with hardware selection for optimal performance
  • Develop mounts and enclosures that withstand extreme conditions
  • Integrate with DAQ tools, PLCs, and basic OpenCV scripts
  • Troubleshoot and iterate quickly when challenges arise

Success Metrics:

  • Effective design and implementation of a functional sensor system within a factory environment
  • Efficient troubleshooting and resolution of issues
  • Confidence in evaluating and improving system performance
  • Customer satisfaction through hands-on contributions
  • Problem-solving approach prioritizing functionality over aesthetic appeal

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in sensors, automation, or machine vision
  • Knowledge of laser triangulation, ultrasonic NDT, or machine vision systems
  • Ability to design practical mechanical setups (mounts, fixtures, enclosures)
  • Proficiency in Python/OpenCV/DAQ basics and PLC connections
  • Comfortable working in high-heat/industrial environments
  • Based in India, with flexibility to travel for deployments
  • Availability of ~20 hrs/week (flexible schedule)
