US Tax Specialist

Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled US Tax Professional to join our team in preparing and reviewing personal and corporate income tax returns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review 1040, 1120, and trust income tax returns with accuracy and efficiency.
- Apply US tax treaty provisions to cross-border tax transactions.
- Coordinate sales tax filings and registrations.
- Support tax planning initiatives for cross-border transactions.
- Draft working papers for income tax filings and maintain organized records.
- Aid in tax audits with the IRS, including client coordination and document preparation.
- Collaborate with senior staff and partners on tax strategies and planning.
- Develop strong client relationships and understand their business needs.
- Apply project management skills, particularly during tax season.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 1–2 years' experience in preparing/reviewing 1040 and 1120 tax returns.
- Prior experience in public accounting or tax is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master of Commerce preferred).
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with tax software (e.g., Prosystems, FX, Gosystems, Drake Tax) is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent team collaboration and multitasking ability.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous professional development.
