API Sourcing Associate Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced API Sourcing Associate to manage procurement activities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) on behalf of our client. The role involves identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to secure high-quality, cost-effective materials.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global regulatory requirements (USFDA, EMA, etc.) for API sourcing and excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and qualifying API suppliers globally in alignment with client requirements. You will also negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.

Additionally, you will manage end-to-end procurement processes, including request for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, and supply contracts. You will monitor supplier performance, compliance, and adherence to quality, delivery, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and Evaluate Suppliers: Identify, evaluate, and qualify API suppliers globally in alignment with client requirements.
  • Negotiate Contracts: Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Manage Procurement Processes: Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including request for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, and supply contracts.
  • Monitor Supplier Performance: Monitor supplier performance, compliance, and adherence to quality, delivery, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in API sourcing, procurement, or supplier management within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Skill Set: Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of global regulatory requirements (USFDA, EMA, etc.) for API sourcing.
