Job Description for Senior Finance Manager (US Accounting) - Ahmedabad

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead our US Accounting Operations Team in Ahmedabad. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for managing foreign accounting operations, developing and leading a high-performing team, and ensuring timely filing of sales tax returns.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Review the work of Lead accountants on a daily basis, including month-end processes.
  • Ensure timely filing of sales tax returns in compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare for monthly financial reports & year-end audits and finalization tasks.
  • Prepare Cashflow statements, budgets, and forecasting reports.
  • Develop & manage implementation for new client accounts.
  • Manage the team of Lead accountants, Sr. accountants, and Associate accountants.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, including conducting training for existing team members and new employees.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Prompt resolution of any queries.
  • Ensure SOPS, Workpapers, and proper documentation of all processes.
  • Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Own and maintain internal and external reporting dashboards to track work progress.
  • Effective work planning to ensure accurate & timely deliverables.

Requirements:

  • M.COM / Inter CA / MBA / CA. CPA qualification is good to have.
  • 8-15 years of experience in accounting, with recent minimum 2 years' experience in US accounting.
  • Proven experience of working as a manager for minimum 1 year in US accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting, including in-depth knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Candidates with proven capabilities of setting up Multi-country Finance Operations, process management, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience in developing teams and ability to manage a team of experienced finance colleagues of at least 8-10 people.
  • Exposure on International assignments on Finance & Accounts Transitions, Auditing, Consulting, or other engagements is an added advantage for this role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent decision-making & logical skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Experience working with QuickBooks.
  • Experience working with Bill.com, Odoo, Netsuite, Sage Intacct, or hands-on experience in any of the ERP is good to have.
