Head of Insurance

As the leader of our Marine Insurance and Claims team, you will be responsible for driving success in this critical department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the overall leader of the Marine Insurance and Claims Department, guiding your team to achieve excellence.
  • Represent our organization as the Group Principal in all marine insurance and claims policies and functions, fostering strong relationships and securing growth opportunities.
Risk Assessment & Policy Management:
  • Lead all insurance policy planning and risk mitigation initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
  • Assess risks related to voyages and advise on War Risk/K&R/INL coverage, ensuring our organization remains proactive and resilient.
Claims Management & Settlement:
  • Oversee the complete life cycle of insurance claims, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with insurer protocols, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with P&I Clubs, Brokers, insurers, for negotiations and settlements, leveraging your expertise to secure favorable outcomes.
Team Performance Management:
  • Act as direct supervisor and mentor for team members, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth and development.
  • Ensure optimal departmental structure, delegation, and staff performance, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Training, Development & Knowledge Management:
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and procedural excellence within the team, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Maintain an up-to-date digital repository of policies, procedures, claim trackers, and audit documents, ensuring easy access to critical information.
