Internal Medicine Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Internal Medicine Specialist to join our team of medical professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult internal medicine, with expertise in diagnosing and treating complex medical conditions.

• Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including outpatient and inpatient services, to adults with acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Conduct thorough history-taking, physical examinations, diagnostic investigations, and treatment planning to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient management.
  • Collaborate with specialists from various departments, such as cardiology, nephrology, and neurology, for referrals and co-management of patients.
  • Participate in clinical discussions, journal clubs, and academic meetings to stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in internal medicine.
• Teaching & Academic Duties:
  • Deliver lectures, clinical demonstrations, and bedside teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students to help them develop their clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Mentor residents and interns in history taking, clinical examination, and diagnostic reasoning to ensure they are well-prepared for their future careers.
  • Participate in curriculum development and evaluation to improve the quality of medical education.
• Research & Publications:
  • Contribute to clinical research projects related to internal medicine, either independently or as part of a team, to advance the field and improve patient outcomes.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences to share knowledge and experiences with colleagues.
  • Participate in audits and clinical quality improvement programs to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance patient care.
• Administrative & Supportive Roles:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, discharge summaries, and referral notes to ensure seamless communication among healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, treatment guidelines, and institutional policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Support hospital-wide initiatives, such as quality improvement programs and employee wellness initiatives.
  Qualifications:
  • MBBS + MD / DNB in General Medicine / Internal Medicine.
  • Valid registration with National / State Medical Council.
  Desirable Qualifications:
  • Addtional certifications in sub-specialties (e.g., Diabetology, Rheumatology, Infectious Diseases).
  • Experience in ICU or critical care settings.
  • Teaching or research experience (for academic roles).
  Skills & Competencies:
  • Broad knowledge across all systems of adult internal medicine.
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
  • Teaching and mentoring abilities (if in an academic setting).
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and complex cases.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, clinical documentation, and diagnostics.
