Key Roles of a Transaction Advisor

The transaction advisory manager provides comprehensive services, including virtual CFO roles, valuations, financial and tax due diligence, and tax advisory solutions tailored to the unique needs of founders, investors, and rapidly scaling businesses.

  • Key Responsibilities include:
    • a. Financial Partnerships: Serve as a strategic financial partner to start-ups, overseeing budgeting, MIS reporting, cash flow, and investor communications.
    • b. Valuations: Support valuations for fundraises, secondary transfers, and M&A transactions in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • c. Due Diligence: Lead buy-side/sell-side due diligence projects including financial health checks, revenue/margin analysis, working capital assessments, and historical reviews.
    • d. Tax Advisory: Provide tax structuring advice for business models and transactions, including cross-border setups, holding structures, ESOPs, and exits.
    • e. Client Management & Team Leadership: Manage multiple client engagements with professionalism and responsiveness, mentor junior colleagues, and ensure high-quality deliverables.

The ideal candidate brings both technical expertise and the ability to act as a trusted advisor to founders and investors.

Requirements include CA with 4–6 years of relevant experience in transaction advisory at a mid-tier boutique advisory or in a start-up finance team with exposure to FP&A and fundraise projects, strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, taxation laws, financial modeling, and valuation principles, proven track record in client servicing and team management, excellent communication skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and prior experience working with start-ups or within the start-up ecosystem.
