Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of our SharePoint applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java 8, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot, with experience in building microservices and working with SQL/NOSQL databases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine the design and workflow strategy for new projects, closely following governance models.
  • Identify and resolve issues reported within defined SLAs, as part of routine maintenance of existing applications built in SharePoint online.
  • Report extraction and automations to support different metrics, maintained in the applications.
  • Work with stakeholders on enhancements in the existing applications.
  • Project Planning, Tracking, & Reporting:
    • Workout budgetary estimates during kick-off, after understanding high-level requirements.
    • Support the team in project planning activities, identify risks proactively, escalating through appropriate channels as required, and responsible for closely tracking actual efforts.
    • Communicate regularly the status of projects, risks that creep, impediments if any.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in building applications using Java 8, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, React JS.
  • Good knowledge of HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React.js.
  • Hands-on experience with microservices, REST/SOAP.
  • Working with SQL/NOSQL databases and data structures to store, retrieve, and manipulate data.
  • Knowledge of Eclipse/IntelliJ IDE, Maven, Git, Jenkins build/deploy application, JIRA, and similar tools.
  • Prior experience in tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Postman/SOAP UI, and unit testing frameworks (Mockito) is a plus.
  • Good insurance domain knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other developers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that meets industry standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing applications and provide timely resolutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development and apply them to improve the quality and performance of applications.
  • Write and execute unit tests to ensure the reliability and functionality of code.
  • Implement security measures to protect applications from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Document technical specifications, user manuals, and other relevant documentation to ensure effective communication and knowledge transfer.
