Job Overview

As a Senior Back End Developer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical landscape of our maritime operations platform.

You will be responsible for crafting, implementing, and maintaining robust back-end systems that deliver high-performance solutions. Your expertise in backend technologies will enable seamless integration with frontend applications, databases, and other core systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and development of scalable, maintainable, and efficient software architecture.
  • Take ownership of the product lifecycle, from conceptualization through development and deployment.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices to ensure high-quality code.
  • Build reusable, modular code and libraries to promote efficiency and consistency.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Strong programming foundation in Python, including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience in developing web applications and APIs, with knowledge of frameworks like Django or Flask.
  • Considerable expertise in secure software development and handling sensitive data.
  • Well-established experience in all phases of development – requirement gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repository and experience working with Git.
  • Hands-on experience in DB design & Architecture with focus on performance.
  • Knowledge of caching techniques and utilities like Memcache / Redis.
  • Experience working on Apache, Nginx, or any other web/app server.
  • Experience in containerization tool -Docker.
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise-level deployment and scaling.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in writing reusable code and libraries.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Competencies:

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and implement optimal solutions.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, handling sensitive data, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • An ability to design scalable and efficient backend systems.
