Job Summary

The Senior Manager - Design and Engineering Solar EPC will lead the review, validation, and approval of engineering designs and drawings prepared by external consultants for ground-mounted solar projects.

  1. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Review & Validation:

    1. Review and validate drawings, designs, and engineering documents submitted by consultants (including SLDs, GA drawings, layouts, and equipment sizing).

    2. Evaluate designs for constructability, safety, and long-term performance.

    3. Verify PVsyst reports, energy yield assessments, and equipment selection.

  • Approval & Coordination:

    1. Provide timely technical approvals of consultant deliverables.

    2. Coordinate with consultants, clients, and statutory bodies for design clarifications and approvals.

    3. Ensure engineering documents are aligned with project specifications and contract requirements.

  • Project Execution Support:

    1. Guide project and construction teams by clarifying design-related queries.

    2. Monitor implementation to ensure adherence to approved designs.

    3. Review as-built drawings and handover documentation.

  • Optimization & Risk Mitigation:

    1. Identify design gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities in consultant submissions.

    2. Recommend value-engineering measures to optimize costs without compromising quality.

    3. Ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency in the final design.

  • Leadership & Teamwork:

    1. Lead internal engineering review meetings.

    2. Mentor junior engineers in design review processes.

    3. Coordinate cross-functionally with procurement, execution, and quality teams.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Power/Renewable Energy Engineering.

Experience:

  • 10-15 years of experience in solar EPC projects, with significant exposure to design review and approvals.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of PV system design (DC & AC side), grid connectivity, substation interface, and protection systems.
  • Hands-on experience with PVsyst, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
  • Excellent coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
