Site Engineer Role

Job description:

We are seeking a skilled Site Engineer to manage various aspects of construction projects, supervise crew members, prepare estimates for time and material costs, complete quality assurance, observe health and safety standards, and compile reports for different stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have experience in commercial interiors, strong leadership skills, and be able to work effectively with professionals from various disciplines. They should be able to create work schedules that meet deadlines and demonstrate excellent analytical and logical thinking skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Organizing materials and ensuring sites are safe and clean.
  • Preparing cost estimates and procuring necessary materials and tools.
  • Providing technical advice and suggestions for improvement on particular projects.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment as required.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure the best contracts.
  • Authorizing technical drawings and engineering plans.
  • Drawing up work schedules and communicating any adjustments to crew members and clients.
  • Gathering data, compiling reports, and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Delegating tasks and scheduling meetings and training sessions as needed.
  • Completing quality assurance and providing feedback to the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in commercial interiors, especially in office spaces.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Additional certifications or licenses may be required.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering, construction, and design principles.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

To succeed in this role, you should possess project management skills, be able to apply logical and critical thinking skills to projects, and have great written and verbal communication skills. A willingness to learn and adapt to new situations is also essential.
