Job Overview

The primary function of this position is to serve as a hands-on mentor and leader for the SRE team, ensuring seamless operational aspects of production environments.

  • This role involves collaborating with architects, DevOps teams, product teams, and software developers to enhance software performance on AWS platform.
About the Role

This critical position demands exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, strong analytical abilities, and a deep understanding of cloud systems, networks, databases, and incident lifecycle management.

  1. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud operations/administration, specifically on Amazon AWS.
  2. A strong background in SQL, Windows Servers, Load balancers, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CodeDeploy, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, Amazon FSX, Elastic Search, and networking concepts is essential.
  3. Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, or Ruby) is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance to junior team members on core SRE principles and tools.
  • Implement automation solutions to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Lead efforts to update production environments with new versions and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with architects and DevOps engineers to plan capacity changes that support new load and performance characteristics.
  • Ensure the highest level of uptime by implementing system-wide corrections.
  • Mentor other SRE team members to enhance their skills.
  • Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues using golden signals and additional principles like chaos engineering.
  • Develop and maintain recovery procedures and RCA documents in collaboration with other engineering teams.
  • Manage incidents assigned to the team within agreed-upon SLAs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or related positions on AWS Cloud Platform.
  • At least 2 AWS certifications (AWS Sysops Admin and Architects certifications preferred).
  • Integration experience with PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Datadog, and CloudWatch.
