Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing land acquisition activities for wind projects, working closely with the Head of Project Development to create a land pool and develop a pipeline for the organization.

This key position involves supporting project development activities, collaborating with various departments for land acquisition, identifying suitable developers/aggregators for wind energy projects, and ensuring adherence to regulations related to land, forest, and approvals.

  • SUPPORT project development activities and collaborate with various departments for land acquisition and related tasks.
  • IDENTIFY suitable developers/aggregators for wind energy projects, focusing on primary states.
  • ENSURE adherence to regulations related to land, forest, and approvals.
  • ASSESS risks in land acquisition and recommend mitigation plans.
  • LEAD legal due diligence and documentation to ensure clear title before acquisition.
  • PARTICIPATE in drafting agreements and facilitate execution.
  • COLLABORATE with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless land acquisition.
  • FACILITATE communication and coordination to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • HANDLE interactions with local agencies and stakeholders for smooth acquisition.
  • MANAGE administrative tasks for land acquisition across our pan-India locations.
  • DEVELOP project plans and schedules, coordinating with stakeholders for successful implementation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • EXPERIENCE in land acquisition involving Revenue/Private/Forest Land, including valuation reports and negotiation.
  • MINIMUM 12 YEARS of hands-on experience in Land procurement/acquisition for Wind and/or solar projects.
  • EXCELLENT communication skills for effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • STRONG understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy projects and land acquisition.
  • THOROUGH knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to forests and land.
  • FAMILIARITY with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc.
  • ABILITY to conduct preliminary due diligence checks and assess land risks.
  • PROFICIENCY in identifying suitable developers/aggregators for renewable energy projects.
  • PROVEN ability to secure lands within targeted timelines.
  • STRONG organizational and project management skills to execute land procurement targets.
  • PROACTIVE and self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
  • STRONG problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges.
