Systems Navigation Specialist

Job Overview:

The Systems Navigation Specialist is the key interface between vessels, Fleet Superintendents, partners, and internal departments for navigation system management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain compliance with international rules and regulations.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to quality, health, safety, environmental, and ethics policies.
  • Develop and report on a continuous performance improvement plan.
  • Conduct navigation system surveys and maintenance, supporting vessels and shore teams with risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with vessel Superintendents/Managers to source optimal repair solutions within time and budget constraints.
  • Support vessel compliance with flag and class requirements related to navigation systems.
  • Provide feedback and challenge repair proposals from partners/vendors to ensure operational availability.
  • Contribute experience feedback and lessons learned for improved navigation system reliability.
  • Evaluate and assess navigation system data, discussing lifecycle optimization with expert teams.
  • Prepare annual budgets for assigned vessels in consultation with experts/Superintendents/Vessel managers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or Electronics and Telecommunications engineering.
  • 3 years' experience in vessel support preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of integrated radio and navigation systems, OT networking, cybersecurity controls.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
