Job Opportunity: Backend Development Lead

The ideal candidate will spearhead the development and maintenance of our maritime operations platform's back-end systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services with frontend applications, databases, and core systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of software developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive team effectiveness and productivity.\
  • Contribute to scalable, maintainable, and efficient software architecture design and development.\
  • Owning the product lifecycle from conceptualization through development and deployment, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet evolving maritime sector needs.\
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices, including writing comprehensive unit tests, to guarantee reliable and maintainable code.\
  • Built reusable, modular code and libraries to promote efficiency and consistency across projects.\
  • Continuously optimize applications for maximum performance, speed, and scalability.\
  • Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations to safeguard sensitive information.\
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation for all systems and processes related to products you own.\

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in software development, leadership, or management roles.\
  • Strong programming foundation in Python, including debugging and performance analysis.\
  • Experience in developing web applications and APIs (REST, XML) using frameworks like Django or Flask.\
  • Expertise in secure software development, handling sensitive data, and adhering to best practices.\
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repository management and experience working with Git.\
  • Hands-on experience in DB design & Architecture, focusing on performance.\
  • Knowledge of caching techniques and utilities like Memcache or Redis.\
  • Experience working on Apache, Nginx, or other web/app servers.\
  • Containerization expertise with Docker.\
  • Enterprise-level deployment and scaling experience.\
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and make informed decisions.\
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.\
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\
