About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to support our Corporate Finance team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Invoices: Verify, process, and reconcile vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Expense Analysis: Monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including expense summaries and aging reports.
  • Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with vendors, addressing payment issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Data Management: Ensure accuracy of financial data by maintaining the accounts payable ledger.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency in accounts payable operations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • QuickBooks experience.
  • Knowledge of Canadian taxes – HST, PST, PD7A, ROE.
  • Experience with Canadian payroll – Federal Tax, Provincial Tax, CPP, EI.
  • Meticulous in verifying invoices from vendors prior to processing payments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
