Project Financial Manager

The project financial manager oversees the financial and commercial performance of projects, managing budgets, forecasts, reporting, and financial statements to align with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Strategy:
  • Contribute to project strategy development and monitor key performance indicators related to quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Ensure systematic analysis of project progress and completion.
  • Financial Management:
  • Responsible for project budget and financial performance.
  • Develop and analyze budget frameworks.
  • Optimize project cash flow and manage currency risk, tax issues, and project financing requirements.
  • Manage capitalization of project costs, license fees, and hourly rates.
  • Oversee project execution and closure, including complete financial management.
  • Project Execution:
  • Prepare business financial plans consistent with internal, contractual, and regulatory objectives.
  • Promote commercial awareness within the project team and provide commercial input to project execution plans.
  • Monitor claims and back-charges, coordinate regular project reviews, and identify risks with mitigation actions.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with various stakeholders, including product management, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Leadership and Communication:
  • Support project management in budget-related issues and communicate budget directives.
  • Supervise project accountants, cost engineers, and field administrators as needed.
  • Compliance and Governance:
  • Implement internal control processes to ensure accurate financial statements.
  • Ensure corporate governance, compliance, assurance, and internal control.
  • Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a project controller.
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA, FICO, SD-PS, MS Office, and strong Excel skills.
  • Automation and process improvement mindset.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Service-oriented approach.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA (Finance), CA, ICWA or postgraduate degree with relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with project management and financial software.
  • 8-10 years of experience in project controlling or project controlling in the construction, manufacturing, or engineering industry.
