The FPA Controller is a critical role within our Financial Planning and Analysis organization. This position requires an individual with extensive experience in financial accounting, reporting, and control.

This role is accountable for ensuring the integrity of accounting across the end-to-end process, including activities carried out within Finance, Business Technology, and other departments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating and applying BP's control framework at the local entity level, leading the quarterly close process, and delivering quarterly financial reports.

  • Record to Report controllership: Lead the quarterly close process and deliver quarterly financial reports.">
  • Due Diligence ownership: Oversee the Due Diligence process for the local entities, ensuring all relevant requirements are met.">
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with business teams to enable early identification of issues and reinforce first-line control requirements.">
  • Statutory: Support the FPA manager on the letter of representation, stock exchange announcements, annual reports and accounts, ESG, and statutory accountings process.">
  • Financial analysis: Provide variance analysis on actuals reporting in line with Group Financial Reporting instructions and Quarterly Analytical Review requirements.">
Requirements">
  • ">
  • Business/Finance degree or equivalent.">
  • 10 years of relevant post-degree experience, working across multiple segments and with experience of FPA spanning to Controllership over financial reporting.">
  • Experience within global, complex, and matrix organizations, preferably within an Oil Gas business.">
  • Process experience across Accounting, Reporting, and Control with good understanding of Planning, Performance, and Commercial processes.">
  • Deep understanding of the principles of continuous improvement process excellence.">
  • Experience in working with financial systems such as SAP, Microsoft products, and visualization tools like Power BI.">
  • Strong ability to develop relationships and influence at multiple organizational levels, with different stakeholders, and manage conflicts.">
  • Strong ability to collaborate and take key judgments/evaluations.">

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification.">
