Aquaculture Operations Lead Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Aquaculture Operations Lead to oversee our field operations, manage Program Associates, and foster strong relationships with farmers.

Main Responsibilities
  • People Management:
    • Direct 3+ Program Associates to ensure timely and accurate data entry and successful implementation of aquaculture protocols and experiments.
  • Farm Information Maintenance:
    • Collect stocking, harvest, and other farm information at regular intervals and update our records accordingly.
  • Farmer Engagement:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with farmers to ensure their needs are met and they receive the necessary support.
  • Scaled Operations:
    • Lead the process of enrolling new farms in aquaculture initiatives and provide strategic input during meetings with leadership.
Requirements
  • Nationality: Eligible to work in India.
  • Experience with Field Programs: 1 year of experience managing field programs in development, environmental protection, or animal advocacy sectors.
  • Language: Fluency in oral and written Telugu and English.
  • Location: Full-time presence in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh required. Expect extensive field work in surrounding villages.
  • Transportation: Ability to drive a motorbike or scooter on rural roads.
Ideal Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or greater in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Technical Expertise: Previous experience with water quality analysis and management in aquaculture.
