Maintenance Specialist

This role involves overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of various utilities, including boilers, refrigeration systems, air compressors, and water treatment plants. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining manufacturing plants with rotating equipment such as conveyors, crushers, and dryers, along with electrical HT/LT distribution.

Key responsibilities include MIS preparation, budgeting for routine maintenance (R&M) and capital expenditure, tracking of key performance indicators (KPI's), energy and water conservation, and ensuring compliance with EHS & Legal documents requirements for OHSAS & ISO certifications.

A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the field is required, specifically in manufacturing of FMCG or heavy industries within the maintenance department. Required qualification includes a Bachelor of Technology/Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.

  • Troubleshooting, installing, aligning, dismantling, repairing and maintaining industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and circuits.
  • Installing and aligning new equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Performing periodic proactive equipment work, such as maintenance machine analysis, preventative maintenance and other tasks to improve reliability and up-time.
  • Installing and repairing mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts and couplings.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting pneumatic systems, control devices, circuits and components.
  • Adhering to the Min-Max Method to maintain critical items.
  • Performing daily preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance, manpower management and budgeting for spares and services planning.
  • Interpreting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to identify and resolve issues.
  • Collaborating with Production and Utility Managers to prioritize maintenance needs.
  • Coordinating with stores, purchase and accounts for critical spares, services and adhering to plant safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Preparing monthly presentations for maintenance and monthly MIS presentations.
  • Helping meet or exceed production and quality goals by optimizing equipment to reduce waste.
  • Inspecting, instructing and training technicians and engineers on best practices.
  • Preparing proposals for maintenance projects, productivity improvements and energy conservation initiatives.
  • Ensuring adherence to GMP and Food Safety requirements and actively participating in the safety program.
  • Applying problem-solving methods to identify root causes and eliminate failures.
  • Managing manpower effectively and possessing good knowledge in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
