Agile Governance Specialist

The Digital Excellence Centre is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Agile Governance Specialist to support the delivery of digital assets.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience or deep understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and will work closely with Scrum teams to monitor sprint performance, maintain compliance with governance standards, and drive continuous improvement using tools like Azure DevOps.

This role involves ensuring Agile Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives) are aligned with governance policies, tracking and reporting key Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, team capacity) to leadership, facilitating adherence to delivery standards and best practices across product teams, supporting Scrum Masters and Product Owners in backlog hygiene and sprint readiness, coordinating cross-team dependencies and highlighting risks or blockers to delivery, monitoring work item lifecycle in Azure DevOps, maintaining dashboards, reports, and documentation related to sprints and delivery governance, and ensuring teams are effectively using ADO boards and automation features.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance Agile processes through automation, tooling, or updated frameworks and conducting periodic retrospectives to recommend governance enhancements.

This role requires strong analytical and documentation skills, excellent interpersonal and coordination abilities, and a passion for Agile delivery and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Agile Governance Support:
  • Ensure Agile Scrum ceremonies are aligned with governance policies.
  • Track and report key Agile metrics to leadership.
  • Facilitate adherence to delivery standards and best practices across product teams.
  • Scrum Master Collaboration:
  • Support Scrum Masters and Product Owners in backlog hygiene and sprint readiness.
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and highlight risks or blockers to delivery.
  • Azure DevOps Management:
  • Monitor work item lifecycle in Azure DevOps.
  • Maintain dashboards, reports, and documentation related to sprints and delivery governance.
  • Ensure teams are effectively using ADO boards and automation features.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • Solid knowledge of Azure DevOps – boards, queries, dashboards.
  • Understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum and Kanban).
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coordination abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM).
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps.
  • Exposure to enterprise governance models or PMO functions.
