Job Opportunity: Chief Data Governance Specialist
We are seeking an accomplished data privacy professional to lead our organization's cyber and risk strategy.
The role involves spearheading and executing comprehensive data governance engagements, ensuring seamless compliance with global data protection regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage cross-industry data governance projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Conduct thorough data impact assessments (DIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
- Design, review, and enhance data policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Implement and monitor data controls, including data subject rights, consent management, and cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
- Collaborate with IT, Legal, and Risk functions to ensure data compliance in technology and business processes.
- Drive awareness sessions and training programs on data governance and protection.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management and clients on data risks, compliance gaps, and remediation strategies.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4-10 years of relevant experience in data governance, information security, or compliance.
- Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations (GDPR, DPDP Act, HIPAA, CCPA, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with data audits, assessments, and compliance programs.
- Exposure to ISO 27701, ISO 27001, and other data governance/security frameworks.
- Ability to manage client engagements, lead teams, and deliver projects within timelines.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
