Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Science Specialist to join our team. With 10+ years of experience in data science and a strong background in R, Python, and Quarto, the ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that target servers meet system requirements for Posit products, verifying network configurations, and allowing for inbound/outbound network traffic as required by each product.

The role requires preparation, installation, and ongoing maintenance of Posit Workbench, Connect, and Package Manager. The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, including system configuration, network setup, and installation processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation
    • Ensure target servers meet system requirements for each Posit product
    • Verify network configurations
    • Allow for inbound/outbound network traffic as required by each product
  • Installation of Posit Workbench
    • Install R, Python, and Quarto
    • Configure Workbench through its configuration files
    • Set up users, session management, resource limits, etc.
    • Start the Service and test it
  • Installation of Posit Connect
    • Download and install Connect
    • Edit the connect.gcfg configuration file to set up server URL, authentication methods, email notifications, and storage options
    • Configure SSL certificates
    • Start the Service and test it
  • Installation of Posit Package Manager
    • Download and install the Package Manager package
    • Set up CRAN, Bioconductor, and custom package repositories
    • Configure access controls
    • Start the Service and test it
  • Ongoing Maintenance
    • Regularly apply updates and patches to Posit products and their dependencies
    • Monitor license usage and renew licenses as needed
    • Establish a support plan
