Job Role: Strategic Financial Analyst

Role Summary:

  • This position specializes in analyzing and reporting financial and operational metrics, providing meaningful insights to key business leaders.
  • The analyst will partner with global finance teams, operations, and high-level management to drive the business forward and monitor progress.
  • The analyst will not only identify solutions but also communicate results effectively to management, painting a clear picture of what is happening through articulate insights from analysis.
  • Understanding the industry and our business strategy is essential for success in this role, as our work directly influences the execution and success of those strategies.
  • The right candidate will need strong critical thinking skills to operate successfully in an entrepreneurial environment, being adaptable to new demands and requirements.
  • Strong logical reasoning skills are necessary for navigating models and advanced Excel functions and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage data analytics on operational metrics
  • Build and maintain analytical models on key operating measures
  • Work closely with leadership to formulate the business's medium to long-term financial and strategic plan
  • Collaborate with Business Unit heads to build annual budgets and forecasts
  • Produce models to project long-term growth and determine impacting business factors
  • Analyze financial and operational results to better understand company performance
  • Utilize existing tools to deliver meaningful insights into business performance
  • Communicate to senior management the reasons behind product/department performance and results
  • Provide detailed analysis and commentary on cost center results
  • Review operations and recommend new productivity or cost-saving initiatives
  • Prepare and manage data analytics on operational metrics
  • Build and maintain analytical models on key operating measures
  • Analysis and presentation on client performance, geographic performance, and revenue/pricing success
  • Financial & strategic initiative support for the Senior Management team
  • Prepare business cases to support new investment, strategic, and other business decisions
  • Review existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement efforts
  • Evaluate previous budgets, expenditures to develop and implement future budgets
  • Communicate results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reductions
  • Provide insights to senior management around financial modeling, forecasts, and profitability
  • Variety of ad-hoc financial analytics and projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or MBA Finance
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Knowledge of Randstad operations and systems is an asset
