Database Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Database Administrator to lead our database systems.

  • Database Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
  • PostgreSQL Expertise: 7+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and tuning.
  • High Availability and Replication: Proven experience with HA and replication solutions (Patroni, repmgr).
  • Disaster Recovery and Cluster Rebuilds: Hands-on experience with PITR, disaster recovery, and cluster rebuilds.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize performance, tune queries and indexes, manage vacuuming and bloat, implement pooling (PgBouncer), and maintain robust monitoring and alerts.
  • Cross-Version and Cross-Platform Migrations: Plan and execute major upgrades (pg_upgrade, logical replication), cross-version and cross-platform migrations (on-prem cloud), ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • AWS PostgreSQL Services: Strong hands-on experience with AWS PostgreSQL services like RDS and Aurora, including parameter groups, snapshot management, performance insights, and multi-AZ failover.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior DBAs and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • MySQL Architecture and Installation: Good knowledge of MySQL architecture and installation.
  • MySQL Backup and Restore Operations: Perform MySQL backup and restore operations.
  • MySQL Users, Roles, and Permissions Management: Manage MySQL users, roles, and permissions.
  • MySQL Replication Setup and Troubleshooting: Setup and troubleshoot MySQL replication.
