Principal Legal Counsel Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Legal Counsel to join our team. The ideal candidate will have [14/18] years of experience in legal and compliance roles, with expertise in corporate compliance programs and advising on their implementation.

This position is designed to be a key member of the legal department, working with experienced lawyers to provide legal and compliance solutions to business. The successful candidate will work on managing technology and assessing enterprise-wide compliance management programs for our global group.

The job responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and adopting an Infosys whistleblower program with global and regional reach, comprising seven pillars of an efficient and effective corporate compliance program.
  • Handling global investigations on various issues and negotiating and implementing remediations.
  • Contributing to Compliance & Integrity Plan reviews, preparing action plans, resolving problems, identifying trends, determining system improvements, and implementing changes.
  • Exposure and understanding of key compliance and regulatory regimes applicable to our organization, including Whistleblower Regulations, Anti-Bribery - Anti-Corruption, Anti-Trust, Confidentiality, and commensurate processes and controls.
  • Reviewing and improving whistleblower systems and employee feedback mechanisms in collaboration with HR.
  • Planning, organizing, and conducting trainings and communications to enhance and grow the whistleblower program in line with industry standards.
  • Interpreting new regulations and laws by reviewing proposed and adopted state legislation and regulations.
  • Proactively deriving policy administration, trainings, and regular communications.
  • Effectively handling complaints and investigations and remediation processes.
  • Collaborating with various functions like facilities, government relations, finance, and sales to support expansion agendas.
  • Advising on public policy in close cooperation with the Government Relations team.
  • Supporting company positions by developing company responses and defenses to complaints, investigations, and administrative proceedings.

Qualifications:

  • A qualified lawyer with a minimum JD along with relevant experience as a compliance counsel.
  • Possession of additional qualifications such as CA or CFA will be advantageous.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive report development and policy procedure experience in a multinational environment.
  • An interest in using technology for efficient program implementation.
  • Analytical skills relating to business processes, data, and interpersonal relationships.
  • Experience in public speaking and business presentation.
  • Knowledge of IT industry regulatory standards, including Anti-Corruption, Anti-Trust, Trade Controls, etc.
  • Independent project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and innovative approach skills.
  • Ability to handle change management effectively.
