As a seasoned PostgreSQL expert, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality support to our clients. Your primary focus will be on troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to PostgreSQL.

You will work closely with our team to identify and address performance degradation, data corruption investigations, and large-scale failovers. Additionally, you will design and automate PostgreSQL deployments in Kubernetes environments, crafting Helm charts, CRDs, and automation through Terraform or Ansible.

Another key aspect of the role is tuning and optimizing PostgreSQL databases. You will profile slow queries, balance workloads, and architect capacity planning to ensure the smooth operation of our clients' databases.

High-availability is also a crucial aspect of this position. You will build and operate resilient clusters with Patroni, repmgr, streaming replication, synchronous replication, and DR strategies.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for monitoring and observability. You will architect end-to-end pipelines in Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, VictoriaMetrics, and integrate with ELK/EFK stacks for logs and traces.

Finally, you will ensure the security and compliance of our clients' databases. You will implement encryption at rest (TDE, LUKS), TLS in transit, role-based access control, and audit logging to meet GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, or ISO 27001 requirements.

Requirements
  • 5+ years administering PostgreSQL in production at scale
  • Deep expertise in Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu) and shell scripting (Bash, Python)
  • Proven track record with Kubernetes and PostgreSQL Operators
  • Mastery of performance tuning: query plans, WAL tuning, connection pooling (PgBouncer, Pgpool-II)
  • Hands-on with Prometheus/Grafana monitoring stacks
  • Excellent problem-solving, written/spoken English, and customer-facing skills
