API 6A Design Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned mechanical design engineer to lead the development of high-performance pressure control equipment.

This position involves designing and certifying surface pressure control equipment per API 6A standards, with a focus on valves, wellhead components, and tree assemblies.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of API 6A product design and certification processes, as well as proficiency in CAD tools like Inventor or SolidWorks.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs for pressure control equipment.
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and other mechanical calculations to validate designs.
  • Evaluate designs against API 6A, ASME, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide technical support for prototype testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required); Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical design engineering in the oil & gas industry.
  • Familiarity with Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
