The primary objective of this role is to provide operational leadership and support for the Housekeeping department. This includes overseeing daily shift operations, ensuring guest rooms are clean and well-maintained, and completing inspections to hold staff accountable.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for working closely with employees to ensure that all areas of the hotel are clean and tidy, including guest rooms, public spaces, and employee areas.

You will also assist in managing departmental costs, participating in the management of the department's controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.

This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be interacting with guests, employees, and other departments on a regular basis.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of experience in housekeeping or a related field, or a degree from an accredited university in hospitality or a related field and no prior work experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Housekeeping Operations: Ensure guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely manner, work effectively with Engineering to resolve maintenance issues, supervise the property's general cleaning schedule, and inventory supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Supervise Daily Shift Operations: Assist in supervising daily Housekeeping shift operations, ensuring compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures, and communicate areas of concern to staff.
  • Manage Departmental Costs: Participate in managing departmental costs to achieve or exceed budgeted goals, understand the impact of departmental operations on overall property financial goals, and manage to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Respond to guest problems and complaints, strive to improve service performance, empower employees to provide excellent customer service, and emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings.
