Job Description: Robotics Hardware Design Expert

Our company seeks a skilled robotics hardware design expert to create cutting-edge cooking robots that live inside kitchens and cook food autonomously. These robots utilize Artificial Intelligence enabled Computer Vision for precise and reliable cooking results.

  • The ideal candidate will architect the electronic backbone of our cooking robotics systems, including circuit designs for cloud connectivity, motor control systems, and robotic functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop analog and digital circuits using multi-layer board stack-ups with high-speed serial techniques.
  • Debug and test proposed solutions to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Design power and communication topologies that meet the needs of our robotic systems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware components into robotics systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Create and evaluate PCB designs for optimal performance and manufacturability.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in PCB Design Tools, specifically OrCAD, PADS, or Altium.
  • Strong understanding of microprocessor layout principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of EMI/EMC principles and regulations.
  • Expertise in signal integrity and noise cancellation techniques.
  • Familiarity with power electronics is beneficial.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in hardware design for robotics or related fields.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with robotics platforms or similar embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python for automation and testing.
  • Mechanical design tools experience, such as SolidWorks for enclosure design collaboration.
  • EMI/EMC certifications or relevant industry certifications are preferred.
  • Familiarity with UL and FCC standards for designing complex hardware systems is highly valued.
