Job Title: Data Platform Engineer

 

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with expertise in designing, building, and scaling data platforms. This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep technical involvement in building, deploying, and maintaining the data platform.

 

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Programming Languages: Python
  • Software Engineering Skills: Solid programming skills, especially in Python, with strong fundamentals in computer science, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Proven problem-solving ability with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

 

  • System Design and Development:
  • End-to-End Data Platform Architecture: Strong conceptual and practical understanding of end-to-end data platform architecture—from ingestion to transformation to consumption.
  • Production Environment Experience: Hands-on experience building and scaling data platforms in production environments.

 

  • Cloud Computing Services:
  • AWS Ecosystem: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services relevant to data engineering, including Amazon EMR, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, Redshift, Athena, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Amazon SQS/SNS, EventBridge, and their integration into scalable and decoupled data pipelines and microservices.

 

  • Event-Driven Systems:
  • Building Event-Driven Systems: Proficiency in building event-driven systems using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Amazon SQS/SNS, EventBridge, and integrating these services into scalable and decoupled data pipelines and microservices.

 

  • Microservices Architecture:
  • Designing Microservices-Based Architectures: Familiarity with designing and working within microservices-based architectures, including service communication, deployment strategies, and monitoring.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain the data platform.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
