SQL Server Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA with strong expertise in SQL Server upgrades, Always On Availability Groups, and cloud migrations (AWS preferred).

The ideal candidate will play a key role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases to ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Upgrades and Migration: Lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.
  • HA/DR Management: Design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups in production environments.
  • Cloud Migration: Plan and implement database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans).
  • Backup and Recovery: Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
