The Director of Sports plays a pivotal role in shaping the institution's sports programs, physical education initiatives, and wellness activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategy for the sports department, ensuring alignment with national and international standards.
  • Oversight of sports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum to foster a culture of excellence and inclusivity.
  • Effective management of sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds, ensuring proper maintenance and optimal utilization.
  • IDentification, recruitment, and mentorship of talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels, promoting a competitive edge and academic success.
  • Collaboration with coaches, trainers, and faculty to promote a culture of fitness, sportsmanship, and well-being among students and staff.
  • Organization of workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports to educate and engage the community.
  • Supervision and evaluation of sports coaches and staff to ensure high-quality instruction and athlete development.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting ethical sports practices, upholding the institution's reputation and values.
  • Formulation and implementation of sports and physical education policies in accordance with UGC/AIU norms, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • IDentification and grooming of talented sportspersons to represent the institution at zonal, national, and international levels, enhancing its reputation and competitiveness.
  • Liaison with sports councils, federations, and UGC-recognized bodies for collaboration and participation, exploring opportunities for growth and development.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field, demonstrating expertise and a deep understanding of the subject matter.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in sports administration, coaching, or sports management, showcasing leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A proven track record of managing large-scale sports events and teams, highlighting strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of modern training methods, sports technology, and performance analytics, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • A record of representing the university/college at inter-university / inter-collegiate competitions or the State and/or National championships, showcasing competitive spirit and achievement.
  • Familiarity with UGC, AIU, and national sports policies, ensuring compliance and advocacy for the institution's interests.
