IT Infrastructure Head Job Description

The role of the IT Infrastructure Head is a critical position within our organization, responsible for overseeing the overall IT infrastructure, applications, and systems that support business operations.

This includes ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of servers, managing active and passive networking components, and maintaining good documentation practices for IT infrastructure and procedures.

In addition to these technical responsibilities, the IT Infrastructure Head will also play a vital role in ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards, particularly those relevant to GxP standards.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of heading IT systems in a medium to large-scale formulations or API manufacturing facility and possess strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust infrastructure and systems to support various internal functions like production, engineering, quality control, and warehouse management.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and management of servers to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage active and passive networking components, including switches, routers, firewalls, and cable systems.
  • Maintain good documentation practices for IT infrastructure, applications, configurations, and procedures.
  • Ensure all IT systems comply with industry regulations and standards, particularly those relevant to GxP standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments for any systems issues, improvements, CAPAs, and new projects implementation.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to IT systems, providing timely support to minimize downtime.
  • Handle data backup of all critical systems and be conversant with online backup systems.
  • Have experience with major audits and familiar with relevant guidelines and compliance standards.
  • Be knowledgeable on cGAMP and compliance requirements.
  • Assess systems gaps applicable to user management, data backup, systems hardware, software, and implement corrective actions.
  • Have good exposure to L1 system upgrades and L2 integration.
