Job Title: Electrical Technician

As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks on electrical equipment, including power distribution transformers, switchboards, cables, MCCs, motors, PLCs, VFDs, UPS systems, lighting, and cathodic protection systems. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting complex electrical problems and conducting basic repairs of electrical equipment and power circuits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical problems using various diagnostic techniques and tools, including multimeters and insulation testers (Megger).
  • Conduct basic repairs of electrical equipment and power circuits, ensuring all work is done safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret machine sketches, single-line diagrams, control schematics, and flowcharts to facilitate proper maintenance.
  • Use all related tools and instruments for maintenance activities, including testing and calibration equipment.
  • Work in a team environment to achieve common goals and objectives.

Requirements:

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 07 years of hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas/Refinery/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry.
  • Familiarity with electrical control and protection systems, including PLCs, motor protection relays, feeder protection relays, etc.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (ANSI and BS EN).
  • Understanding of hazardous area classification (ZONE / Class / Division).
  • Awareness of safety and environmental aspects in the Oil & Gas plants.
