Executive Director of Finance and Accounting

Job Summary:

The Executive Director of Finance and Accounting will be responsible for overseeing the company's finance operations across its business verticals. This includes managing end-to-end finance operations, budgeting, controllership, statutory compliance, audits, cash flow, costing, and MIS.

Candidate Profile and Skills:

- 8-12 years of experience in finance and accounting roles, preferably in multi-entity or multi-vertical environments.

- Proven record in monthly closures, audits, compliance, budgeting, and cash flow management.

- Expertise in AP/AR, revenue recognition, project accounting, and costing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Financial Closures and MIS: Ensure timely delivery of financial statements and MIS dashboards.
  • AP/AR and Cash Flow: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, credit control, and drive DSO reduction and cash conversion improvements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead annual budgeting, quarterly re-forecasts, variance analysis, and cost control across functions and verticals.
  • Revenue and Project Accounting: Oversee revenue recognition, project accounting, cost allocation by BU, and adherence to capitalization policies.
  • Treasury Management: Manage working capital, vendor payments, banking operations, and surplus fund investments.
  • Statutory Compliance: Oversee GST, TDS, Income Tax, Professional Tax, PF/ESIC, and maintain a compliance calendar.
  • Regulatory Filings: Coordinate with legal teams for Companies Act/MCA compliance.
  • Audits: Lead statutory, tax, and internal audits.
  • Policies and Controls: Define and enforce SOPs and DOA for procurement, travel, asset management, and expenses.
  • Costing and Pricing: Support costing, rate cards, tenders, commercials, margin analysis.
  • B2G Finance: Oversee tender financials, EMD/BG issuance/closures, milestone billing, and contract compliance.
  • BhoomiSure Finance: Manage insurance reconciliations and support IRDAI reporting.
  • Tech Spend: Partner with Platform/Tech teams to monitor and optimize cloud spend.
  • Payroll: Coordinate with HR for payroll, reimbursements, variable pay, and ESOP accounting.
  • Systems and Automation: Implement/maintain ERP/accounting stack and automate invoicing, collections, and reporting.
  • Investor Readiness: Prepare board packs, MIS/KPI dashboards, diligence data rooms, and track covenants.
  • Taxation: Handle tax planning, assessments, notices, and transfer pricing documentation.

Core Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Ind AS, Companies Act, GST, TDS, and Income Tax compliance.
  • Expertise in AP/AR, revenue recognition, project accounting, and costing.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, variance analysis, MIS/BI tools.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems and process automation.

Leadership Competencies:

  • Strong ownership and accuracy under deadlines.
  • Crisp communication with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Legal/Compliance, HR, and Tech teams.
  • Enforces discipline in collections, controls, and spend governance.

Industry Knowledge (Preferred):

  • Familiarity with AgTech, InsurTech, or Geospatial commercial models, data licensing, and service contracts.
  • Understanding of IRDAI financial practices and B2G procurement finance.
