Job Overview

We are looking for a technical leader to oversee the implementation of vessel retrofit projects from concept to completion.

This is a permanent, individual contributor role that is ideal for a Marine Chief Engineer with a strong grounding in docking, retrofit implementation, and stakeholder coordination.

As a technical solutions manager, you will be responsible for:

  • End-to-End Retrofit Management - overseeing retrofit projects from inception to completion, including feasibility analysis, layout planning, material flow, vendor timelines, and yard coordination.
  • Engineering & Electrical Integration - reviewing design drawings, electrical interface scopes, and class/flag submissions, liaising with engineering vendors and class societies for approvals.
  • Techno-Commercial Offers & ROI Analysis - preparing technical offers with ROI calculations, bonus/penalty models, and energy efficiency metrics for internal and client-facing stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination - serving as the single point of contact for owners, charters, yards OEMs, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Project Documentation & RACI Charts - developing and managing project RACI charts, technical specs, work orders, and commissioning plans, and maintaining Project-related accounts.
  • Yard Attendance - traveling to yards for critical retrofit phases, including installation, integration, commissioning, and paint applications.
  • Hull/Paint Strategy & Execution - leading hull modification and paint selection discussions and coordinating yard/OEM execution during dry dockings.

Required Skills and Qualifications

You must be a Marine Engineer (Class 1 – Motor) with 1 to 2 years' experience ashore in technical management or yard roles, with added hands-on experience in:

  • Minimum two major drydocking/repairs involving tankers or bulkers.
  • Retrofit exposure - EPL/ShaPloi/BWTS, Scrubbers, VFDs, Ducts, Propellers, Hull paint.
  • Comfortable in design reviews, electrical integration, and class interactions.
  • Commercial Acumen ROI modelling, proposal creation, cost vs savings analysis.
  • Experience in MS Office tools, Power BI, Advanced Excel, CFD exposure (Optional).
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
