Job Title: Head of Intellectual Property Management

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our intellectual property management efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent law and experience in managing IP portfolios.

The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing designs for potential IP risks, developing search strategies, and conducting advanced technology analysis. They will also work closely with legal associates to review and recommend Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) decisions.

To succeed in this role, you should have a Graduate / Postgraduate / PhD qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering or Material Science. A WON certificate and qualification in IP Law will be considered an advantage.

A minimum of 18+ years of experience in the field is required. You should be well-versed in industry best practices and have experience with state-of-art tools for IP searches.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review NPD designs to identify potential areas for IP legal risk and plan IP checks.
  2. Develop search strategies and conduct search analysis for FTO, SOA, invalidation, opposition, and litigation etc.
  3. Perform advanced technology analysis including competitive intelligence analysis, Design IP protection of transportation design and engineering across business clusters.
  4. Work closely with IP attorneys and legal associates to review and recommend FTO decisions.
  5. Plan and conduct BOM FTO reviews for NPD at product level across automotive technology domains.
  6. Release periodic IP alerts and manage projects/business clusters independently.
  7. Plan, conduct FTO, state-of-art search analysis on LRP/advanced technology and trigger timely protection of all forms of IP across major global jurisdictions.
  8. Be well-versed with industry best practices and state-of-art tools for IP searches.
