The Risk division at Goldman Sachs is responsible for various risk types, including credit, market, operational, model risk, independent liquidity risk, and insurance.  Analytics & Reporting (A&R) is a group within Risk Engineering that ensures timely and accurate risk management decisions by providing a complete view of the firm's risk profile to senior leadership, investors, and regulators.

The Loss Data Validation function plays a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of controls and data accuracy in operational risk event data. This function is responsible for assuring the quality of operational risk event data used for risk management and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities of the Op Risk Event Data Assurance function include:

  • Understanding of the firm's businesses and operational risk events, as well as regulatory expectations around operational risk event data quality and the firm's standards and policies.
  • Daily review and management of operational risk data quality processes, including initiating challenge processes with key stakeholders.
  • Building robust, systematic, and efficient workflows, processes, and procedures for monitoring and challenging operational risk data quality.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, both within the first line and audit functions, to implement and facilitate the firm's data quality strategy.
  • Engaging with external stakeholders, including regulators and external auditors.
  • Identifying and escalating issues related to data and work accuracy and quality.
  • Taking initiative to identify opportunities for process improvements and developing methods to reduce process risks, increase controls, and increase communication.

The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of financial and accounting principles, a strong analytical and quantitative skill set, and the ability to self-organize and demonstrate attention to detail. Additionally, the candidate will have a strong written and verbal communication skill set and be able to work flexibly in a multinational environment.
