Job Title: Raw Material Store Specialist

The key role of the Raw Material Store Specialist is to manage and control raw material inventory in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

This involves ensuring timely availability of raw materials, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the raw material store including receipt, storage, issuance, and record maintenance.
  • Evaluate and implement effective inventory management systems to minimize stock discrepancies and optimize storage space.
  • Conduct regular stock verification, cycle counts, and reconciliation of physical vs. system stock to maintain data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials without disrupting production schedules.
  • Maintain a FIFO/FEFO system for material issuance to ensure optimal stock rotation and minimize waste.
  • Monitor storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cleanliness) to maintain material quality and prevent degradation.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, and other regulatory requirements for raw material handling to guarantee product safety and quality.
  • Develop and implement procedures for documentation, including GRNs, stock registers, bin cards, and SAP/ERP entries.
  • Identify slow-moving, non-moving, or expired raw materials and coordinate for proper disposal as per guidelines.
  • Support audits (internal/external) by ensuring documentation accuracy and store readiness.
  • Train and supervise store assistants/handlers on material handling, safety, and SOP adherence to promote a culture of excellence.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Graduate/Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistics/Science/Commerce or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in raw material store management (preferably in pharmaceuticals/medical devices/manufacturing industry).
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of inventory management techniques (FIFO, FEFO, JIT).
  • Strong understanding of ISO 13485, GMP, and regulatory compliance related to raw material handling.
Skills Required:
  • Excellent knowledge of inventory management and material control.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Good coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a team of store assistants and handlers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
