Procurement Strategist for Raw Materials

The role of the Procurement Strategist for Raw Materials involves overseeing the acquisition of raw materials essential for production processes. This position entails developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining quality and timely delivery of raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement process from purchase requisition to payment to ensure timely delivery and compliance with financial targets.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable terms and conditions, and monitor supplier performance.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs.
  • Ensure that all raw materials procured meet required quality standards and specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. A professional certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on raw materials.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and build strong partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools. SAP knowledge is a must.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience in the pesticide industry is an asset.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to raw materials procurement.
