Manufacturing Innovation Specialist

As a CAM Programmer, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation in manufacturing processes. Your primary responsibility will be to conceptualize and generate Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programs using NX software. This involves defining cutting tools and strategies for 3D models.

  • Developing CAM Programs: You will spend approximately 50% of your time on this task, ensuring that the CAM programs are efficient, accurate, and meet the required specifications.
  • Validating Outputs: Approximately 15% of your time will be spent running tool path simulations, generating NC code, and performing virtual simulations to ensure the output meets the expected standards.
  • Processing Inputs: You will validate 3D models against 2D drawings and assemble part geometry in fixtures, allocating around 10% of your time for this task.
  • Supporting Production: Collaborate with process engineers to implement CAM programs on CNC machines, dedicating around 10% of your time to this activity.
  • Quality Control: Analyze QC reports, implement corrective actions, and iterate as needed, allocating around 10% of your time to quality control activities.
  • Documentation: Create setup sheets and work instructions for CNC operators, dedicating around 5% of your time to documentation tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: A diploma or B.E. in Mechanical, Production, Mechatronics, or Automobile Engineering is mandatory, with B.E. being preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in NX CAM is required for B.E. holders, while diploma holders need at least 8 years of experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency in GD&T and CNC machines is essential. Knowledge of NX CAD, cutting tools, and FANUC Controller is desirable but not mandatory.
