Lead Risk Analyst Position Overview

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Risk Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing risk models using real-world data. This will involve understanding the features, assumptions, and limitations of existing models, proposing a validation approach, identifying target market data for validation, and undertaking the validation within agreed timeframes.

  • Risk Model Development: Develop and enhance risk models using real-world data. This includes understanding the features, assumptions, and limitations of existing models, proposing a validation approach, identifying target market data for validation, and undertaking the validation within agreed timeframes.
  • Risk Measures: Develop and implement risk measures such as Value-at-Risk (VaR), Stressed VaR, Risk Not In VaR (RNIV), Stress Testing, Economic Capital, Incremental Risk Charge (IRC), and Fundamental Review of Trading Book (FRTB).
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Participate in ad-hoc projects as they arise from time to time and provide information relating to these projects in a prompt and coherent fashion.
  • Process Improvements: Suggest improvements to existing frameworks with a view to automate systems and help implement agreed changes.
  • Efficiency Enhancements: Identify areas for efficiency improvements, automation, and enhanced controls in existing processes. Document proposed changes and agree with the on-shore process team prior to implementation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Qualification in Maths, Engineering, Science, Finance, or Business Management, or previous experience in risk management.
  • Market Risk Measures: Basic understanding of market risk measures and derivative products.
  • Professional Qualifications: Professional qualifications such as FRM/PRM/CFA Levels are an added plus.
  • Technical Skills: Good understanding of statistics, Python, Excel VBA skills, and C++ is an added benefit.
  • Communication Skills: Competent in the production of information, ability to process and analyze large volumes of data, and ability to work under pressure and to tight time-lines.
  • Teamwork: Open personality, effective communication skills, ability, and flexibility to work in an international team.
