Job Title

 

You will apply your mechanical engineering expertise on project work from conceptual design through completion in the following areas: commercial, residential, retail and institutional buildings. Technical quality, cost effectiveness, building and maintaining client relationships, and providing guidance to a team of engineers are integral parts of this role.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Design of HVAC systems: Develop high-performance heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that meet client requirements.
  • Design of plumbing and/or fire-protection systems: Design efficient and effective plumbing and fire-protection systems for commercial and residential buildings.
  • Design of specialized piping systems: Design and develop customized piping systems for laboratory gases, waste liquids, and other specialized applications.
  • Analysis of building loads: Conduct thorough analysis of building heating, ventilation, and cooling loads to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Engineering calculations: Perform complex engineering calculations to design and optimize building systems.
  • Coordination with departments: Collaborate with various departments and disciplines required for project implementation.
  • Life-cycle-cost analyses: Conduct life-cycle-cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
  • Production of drawings and specifications: Create detailed drawings and specifications for building systems.
  • Field reviews: Conduct regular field reviews to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Preparation of engineering reports: Prepare comprehensive engineering reports for clients and stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Skills: Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit software, as well as strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and building engineering principles.
  • Experience: Minimum of 12+ years' experience in mechanical design and engineering.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work with minimal supervision, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
