Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate to join our Indirect Tax Advisory team. As an Associate in this role, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on tax matters to clients. Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough research and analysis of legal provisions to provide accurate and reliable advice.
  • Drafting advises, opinions, and compliance reports to ensure seamless communication with clients.
  • Preparing presentations for client meetings, trainings, seminars, and other events to effectively convey complex information.
  • Analyzing client data to estimate the tax impact on business transactions and identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Building scenarios to identify the most tax-efficient business model and presenting recommendations to clients.
  • Contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance our reputation and thought leadership.

Client Service Delivery/Execution:

  • Proactively identifying and discussing technical issues with clients while being mindful of firm risk issues.
  • Handling tax matters related to preparation of submissions, replies to notices, appeals, meeting with tax authorities, and representation during appeals along with seniors.
  • Executing work on a multiple-client base, assuming near-independent responsibility for smaller clients.
  • Developing strong relationships with middle layers of client management.

Develops Commercial Acumen:

  • Staying up-to-date with firm-wide and competitor activities, as well as general business trends.
  • Applying this knowledge in delivering solutions to clients, bringing value to them and their managers.

Networking & Identification of Opportunities:

  • Identifying new opportunities for existing clients and communicating with the manager.
  • Networking internally within the peer group and other levels in the firm to gain understanding of issues impacting clients.
  • Compiling legal data base and contributing to study sessions, continuously updating with the latest legal developments.

  • Strong Analytical and researching skills.
  • Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented.

Experience and Education:

  • CA or Law Graduate from a known institution with a strong academic track record.
  • 0-2 years of post-qualification experience in Indirect tax in the field of litigation or advisory. Prior experience in Indirect Tax is preferred, specifically GST and/or customs.
