Senior Tax Product Specialist

As a Senior Tax Product Specialist, you will lead a team of associates and oversee tax reporting for annuity products.

This includes managing the team, mentoring, and leading to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting.

You will also be responsible for executing daily, monthly, and quarterly activities to ensure proper tax treatment of annuity distributions.

Collaboration with actuarial, finance, and legal teams is essential to ensure consistency and accuracy in tax calculations.

Additionally, you will address and resolve issues related to the taxability of death benefits, ensuring proper tax reporting for beneficiaries and aligning reporting processes with current tax laws and policy guidelines.

Identifying and resolving discrepancies or issues in tax treatment and reporting, as well as driving process improvements and system enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency, are key aspects of this role.

Ensuring adherence to internal controls and regulatory compliance is critical, and supporting audits with relevant documentation and insights is also expected.

Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, preferably with a CPA or equivalent.

7-10 years of experience in tax reporting or financial operations, preferably in insurance or annuity domain, is required, along with proven experience in managing mid-sized teams and delivering results in a regulated environment.

A strong understanding of U.S. tax regulations related to annuity products and death benefits is necessary, as is excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Excel, tax systems, and reporting tools is also required.
