Job Overview

Role Summary: As a Control Specialist, you will perform thorough control testing to ensure the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct regular control testing as part of our Control Monitoring Program to provide assurance that internal controls are functioning effectively. Adhere to Company policies, procedures, and accounting standards while seeking advice when necessary.

  2. Assess business processes to evaluate risk and test internal controls, identifying opportunities for process improvements and best practices. Maintain accurate and complete data integrity.

  3. Analyze problems and determine alternative solutions, evaluate courses of action, and make sound business decisions.

  4. Document workpapers describing review objectives, test procedures, and results, utilizing internal audit methodologies and standards.

  5. Develops a deep understanding of the SOXHub Tool (AuditBoard) for work responsibilities.

  6. Effectively communicates with team members and stakeholders, ensuring messages are targeted appropriately.

  • Identify control exceptions, apply evaluation criteria, and understand their impact on conclusions.

  • Collaborate with the team, promote a cohesive environment, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Support remediation efforts and focus on continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Provide training and coaching to new team members on controls and processes.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, or related field preferred.
  • Understanding of US GAAP, GAAS, Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO framework, and leading business practices.
  • 1 year relevant experience, preferably within Big 4 Audit Firm or multi-national organization.
  • Prior experience in Risk & Compliance or Internal Control role, finance experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, primarily Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
  • CPA required, other certifications preferred.
