Job Overview

The Deputy Manager-Risk Management role oversees all operational activities within the Enterprise Risk Management function, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • This includes developing and implementing an Enterprise Risk Management framework across the organization, incorporating robust internal control systems and risk mitigation strategies.
  • It also involves conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying and evaluating control weaknesses and deficiencies, and providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date Risk Registers (RCSA) is another key responsibility, ensuring timely review and revision as necessary.
  • Collaboration with Principal Risk Owners to identify key risks and develop effective mitigating controls is crucial, facilitating focused attention on critical risks.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports for the Risk Committee, Executive Management Team, and Board Committees is essential, enabling informed decision-making.
Key Qualifications
  • A Graduate degree in Finance, Management, or Risk Management from a reputable institution is required. Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or CBCP are highly valued.
Experience
  • At least 4-8 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a proven track record of success in risk management, is necessary.
Functional Competencies
  • A deep understanding of risk management principles, including risk identification, assessment, and management frameworks, is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of control frameworks and the ability to design and evaluate the effectiveness of controls embedded within business processes is also required.
  • Familiarity with risk and governance standards, such as COSO framework and Basel Corporate Governance Principles, is crucial.
